Radu Pandele Romanian, b. 1993

Radu Pandele (b. 1993, Bucharest, Romania) lives and works in Bucharest. He began his artistic studies at the art high school in Arad, then obtained a BA from the National University of Arts in Bucharest in 2015, and an MA from the University of Arts and Design in Cluj in 2016, before returning to Bucharest to complete another MA in 2018.

Pandele is one of the new generation artists who has drawn attention since his emergence, standing out since 2020 with solo and group exhibitions. From the beginning, he established his own visual language, utilising drawing, painting, and installation, blending traditional techniques with new technologies, including computer graphics, airbrush, and 3D printing. Before focusing on his studio work as a painter, Pandele was an avid graffiti artist since 2007, and a prominent muralist for the new wave after 2015, with a series of significant projects in the capital, across the country, and in cities across Europe.

Pandele covers a thematic range that includes pop icons and historical figures from popular culture, creating a dialogue that is both rooted in art history and open to the new issues of consumer society and mass media.

Pandele has exhibited in important galleries and museums such as the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC) and the Museum of Recent Art (MARe), ArtSafari, CAV Multimedia, Atelier 35 in Bucharest, Romania, the Art Museum of Cluj, Romania, the Art Museum of Arad, Romania, the Ancien Musée de Peinture in Grenoble, France, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Lisbon, Portugal, and has works in significant private and institutional collections both domestically and internationally.
