The Arsmonitor art gallery will open the exhibition DOI GORZO on Thursday, February 29, at 6 PM, marking a first-time collaboration between Ioana Gorzo and Dumitru Gorzo. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 12, 2024. The two artists will showcase a series of new and recent works in an unexpected and atypical visual dialogue, considering their completely different artistic directions, both generationally and stylistically.
Although they have participated in group exhibitions and solo shows at various art spaces and galleries in New York, Bucharest, Cluj, and Timișoara, this will be their first duo-show together. Their choice to exhibit at Arsmonitor in Bucharest positions them in a new light as an "artistic couple," proposing a confrontation-dialogue. Their works will explore new mediums and materialities in their artistic practice, subjecting drawing and painting to a contemporary reflection on the condition of the "image." How their visual languages communicate and where they diverge are questions that will only be answered on the night of the opening.
