Silviu Pădurariu (b. 1978, Bacău) has been active in Bucharest since 1996. Starting in 2013, he attended the Faculty of Art History and Theory at UNARTE, completing his bachelor's degree in 2019 and his master's degree in 2021. During his studies, he was involved in various curatorial, exhibition, and art promotion projects, organizing exhibitions, including with Maxim Liulca in 2015 at Anexa/MNAC as part of NAG, with Robert Koteles in the exhibition Matter at H'art, and with Dumitru Gorzo in the exhibition Gheorghe at MNAC. In 2018, he participated in the launch of the SAC/Berthelot space, where he organized the curatorial program for the first year of its existence, collaborating with Dumitru Gorzo in the exhibition GorzodeAcum, with Gili Mocanu in the exhibition Clar Obscur, and with Teodor Graur, Gheorghe Rasovszky, Marian Zidaru, Călin Dan, and Iosif Kiraly in the exhibition Frictions Tensions Controversies, which also featured two works by Horia Bernea. He has published interviews and essays in Dilema Veche and Revista Arta and managed his personal blog Unrest/Bucharest, under which he promoted interviews in privately printed materials. Starting in 2021, he, together with Mia Munteanu, opened the online limited edition gallery Arsmonitor, and in 2023 they decided to expand the project into an exhibition space under the same name. Pădurariu curates the exhibition program of Arsmonitor gallery and continues the collaborative relationships established during his studies with a number of artists who are recurrently featured in Arsmonitor projects.
